Now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, the most wonderful time of the year is upon us. Usually we like to celebrate this time in style with five other steezy girls by wearing our Christmas finest, but those girls were not accessible except through Skype, ichat, Facebook, email, snail mail, or the actual telephone. So, we had to make alternative arrangements. Enter: FHE. Now, fake Family Home Evening here is something we have a love/hate relationship with. Actually, it's more like a like/dislike relationship. We like going, we dislike thinking about having to go. Understand? However, tonight we took our first ever (and last ever) family Christmas card. We (meaning us, Ally and Lisa, not our deadbeat family) gathered all eighteen of our festive sweaters, and handed them out like prescriptions at a free health clinic. As our fake brothers and sisters and parents pulled on the sweater they selected from the storage bin, we truly felt that we were spreading happiness. Nay, we were spreading joy. Getting other people to look as bad as we do every December was truly gratifying.
As we approach our first round of college finals, we'll try to remember the feeling we got as we watched a full grown nineteen year old boy squeeze into Ally's Deck the Halls with Cows on Holly sweater. And we'll be okay.
