WILK, MARB, JSB, HFAC

We're tired and we haven't read this much since the last Harry Potter came out. But, not to disappoint, here are some highlights:

Monday-

-First day of school. It's a blur. Lisa was late to all her classes. Whatever, it's college.

-FHE. We had to come up with a rap about our "family." We are in group eight. We're not sure yet if they live up to Purple Ten.

-At FHE we reunited with Kevin Wagstaff and our BYU world met our real world. Crazy. Everyone's nametags at FHE said their middle names. While we corrected people and told them our first names, Kevin was known for the remainder of the evening as Bjorn from Norway.

-We listened to Kevin lie to people for a while, and then went back to good old 3120 to do some reading.


Tuesday:

-Second day of school. We have a Book of Mormon class together. It's a huge class. We didn't sit by each other. (Lisa was kind of late) We have to read half of the Book of Mormon in two weeks.

-At lunch we saw a small child in the Canon. Ally said "somebody put a muzzle on that kid" and Lisa said "he needs to be in a cage." We didn't really think much of it. Hopefully nobody was listening.

-Went to dinner at Zupa's with our suitemates. Saw Lisa Tate.

-Ward prayer complete with spiritual thought by Bjorn Wagstaff.

-Looked at Kevin's scooter for a minute.

-Talked to a kid who was on a dodge ball team called Team Swine Flu. They wore latex gloves and hygenic masks. We approved.

-Were favored with a clarinet solo by Dylan.


Wednesday

-We ate breakfast with Brett, who told us all about the huge party going on at the Dude Ranch. Aka, the second floor of Budge Hall. Our ward.

-Third day of school. We went to physical science together.

-Lisa had lunch with Ben who said, "We need to start breeding redheads. They're becoming extinct. They're rather sparce these days."

-Ally sat by a boy in Music 101 who said he knew nothing about music and proceeded to yell out the frequencies of every note the professor played on the piano.

-After dinner we headed to the Dude Ranch for the huge rave. Upon entering Budge we encountered a sign that said "Attention: There will NOT be a 'dance party' here tonight. " The sign lied. College kids are rule-breakers and Nathaniel led us upstairs. It was crazy. Shirts over the lights, a disco ball with a spotlight on it, a police light, some huge speakers. We danced to a few choice songs - Caribou Lou, Whatcha Say, Turn My Swag On, just to name a few - before the event was shut down by the R.A. It was a fire hazard.

-We headed to the next party in Merrill Hall. More shirts over the lights. It got pretty out of hand, so we left. Some Mountain Dew may have been involved.

-Next, we sat on the lawn outside Budge and Merrill. Kevin made everything awkward. We watched him talk to people coming out of the buildings for ages. His favorite question was "Are there, like, a lot of hot chicks in there?" He asked both boys and girls.

-Kylie and Hayley visited from Heritage. They were jealous of the Helaman social life.

-Lisa read, Ally visited the Olson/Berhow residence to hear about their adventures.

Today

-Lisa got up early.

-Ally asked the girl next to her in economics for a piece of paper. The girl had a whole notebook and said she couldn't spare a piece. Ally took notes in her planner.

-Ate lunch in the Canon with Heather. Heather left and we were sitting side by side. Lisa got more fruit and Ally moved to the other side of the table.

-More classes. Book of Mormon was cancelled.

-Terry and Clair dropped by on their way to Lake Powell.

-Went to Walmart to get Lisa's oil changed. While we waited we read the Book of Mormon on coolers in the camping aisle. It was nice to get away from it all. A family spent a long time looking at sleeping bags, but ultimately decided to buy one online.

-Dinner with Cameron, Ben, and Steve Awesome. The dream team. We hope you make Men's Choir, Cameron.

-Reading, reading, popcorn reading.

-While we were just eating Banana Nut Cheerios on our bed, we heard yelling outside. We opened our blinds and looked down to see four kids. Three were dressed like The Three Musketeers, and one was in a fat suit. We love it here.

Finally, some BYU observations

-Couples holding hands walk slow

-Parents pushing strollers walk fast

-Faux hawks, V-neck shirts, and thick frame glasses are boys' attempts to retain their individuality amidst the Honor Code.

-If you're sitting in a group of people, girls who come talk to you only introduce themselves to the boys.

-It's really bright in the morning. There's so much sun out.

-the "I was a U of U fan, but I've repented" joke is used a lot.
