Billie Jean Is Not My Mom
We know.
We know our blogging hiatus is unacceptable.
Here's the thing, though. We've done so many great things, but we haven't taken pictures of them because we were busy. Ergo, here are some pictures of other people doing great things representing us doing the great things we've also done.
We celebrated New Year's Eve
Ally went to St. Geezy with the family.
We both went rock climbing, but not together
We started school again. We're still trying to get used to that fact.On a related note, our Soulja Boy t-shirts are all we hoped they would be and more. In fact, they might be the only reason we survived our first day back from Christmas break.
Most recently, we packed our bags and headed south to a town that's right for us: Las Vegas. That's in Nevada. Many thanks to our hall mate Andrea and the entire Wise Family.

While in "Vegas," (that's what we, the locals, call it) we pretty much hung out with these two people the whole time.

We're tight. Like dreadlocks.
Other noteworthy things that won't have a Google Images picture attached to them:
-The show Ninja Warrior was on a lot during Christmas Break. Ally got addicted to that and rollerblades again.
-We haven't improved at Da Stanky leg, yet.
-We planned our schedules so we never have to see each other, so that's a relief.
-The job search isn't going so well for either of us. For once we can actually blame the recession and have it kind of apply. Turns out that blaming the economy for our mediocre academic performance only made us feel better for a second. It's like treating the symptoms, not the disease.
-Joyce came down for lunch one day.
-Clair and Terry came down for dinner one night.
-We a little bit loved the movie Leap Year. Sorry.

Future Mrs. Dumbledore
We don't want to speak too soon but we've had a good finals week thus far. In fact, it might be better than normal, non-finals weeks.
Let us give you the reasons:
We have an excuse to do one of our favorite things–sit in our room.
No classes.
Sure we study, but we have a music session every 30 minutes.
Between that we make sure to watch this video.
(the beginning is our favorite)
And have been attempting to learn the stanky leg. . .Thanks to our suitemates we've got a good start.
We also bought each other Christmas presents.
Here they are.
Extra large.
Some hall mates made everyone cinnamon rolls because of all the hard studying that's been going on. Hot dog.
We remembered photo booth.

We also received a surprise today. Clair and Terry sent us a package in the mail. Complete with treats and Lammy. This Lammy has really taken our hearts.
Our friend Laura had us over for dinner. She's real sweet to do that. It reminded us that we don't know how to cook.Oh, and we took some finals. Which have been fine.

sorry about the break up
Now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, the most wonderful time of the year is upon us. Usually we like to celebrate this time in style with five other steezy girls by wearing our Christmas finest, but those girls were not accessible except through Skype, ichat, Facebook, email, snail mail, or the actual telephone. So, we had to make alternative arrangements. Enter: FHE. Now, fake Family Home Evening here is something we have a love/hate relationship with. Actually, it's more like a like/dislike relationship. We like going, we dislike thinking about having to go. Understand? However, tonight we took our first ever (and last ever) family Christmas card. We (meaning us, Ally and Lisa, not our deadbeat family) gathered all eighteen of our festive sweaters, and handed them out like prescriptions at a free health clinic. As our fake brothers and sisters and parents pulled on the sweater they selected from the storage bin, we truly felt that we were spreading happiness. Nay, we were spreading joy. Getting other people to look as bad as we do every December was truly gratifying.
As we approach our first round of college finals, we'll try to remember the feeling we got as we watched a full grown nineteen year old boy squeeze into Ally's Deck the Halls with Cows on Holly sweater. And we'll be okay.

Mum and Dad. Guess who posed them like that. We did. All of those high school dances really paid off.

Twins!
Collectively we had great Thanksgivings, thanks for asking. Lisa went to LP (Lake Powell) and Ally went to the EMT (East Milcreek Township). We just saved time by using acronyms. That's efficiency.
Ally was in charge of making the yams for Thanksgiving dinner because "nobody likes them anyway, so it's okay if you mess them up." Yep. They turned out great even though comments like "I think the world would be fine without yams. Maybe even better off" or "Ew. Why do people insist on serving these?" were said by various family members as the plate was being passed around the table. Setting the table, filling the water glasses, and making ice cream cone cornucopias are still the best dinner party chores out there. Some other Thanksgiving highlights were resurrecting Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat from the Morgan's dusty CD binder, seeing the lights at Temple Square, watching most of The Amazing Race-Season 1 again, and running the Human Race - not literally controlling the entire population, just participating in a 5K.
Lisa forgot to take her normal coat to Lake Powell, and it was cold. She enjoyed hiking in a peacoat, though. It's probably an experience everyone should have. Or not. Whatever. The Dicksons ate a real turkey, said Navajo a lot, and Lisa came back to DJ Hally Hall with a new tube of Cherry Dr. Pepper chapstick that automatically makes her a little cooler than Ally. She and her family also enjoyed attending many places that took pride in being so close to a large structure that blocks water, such as: The Dam Bar and Grill, and The Dam Bowling Alley. It was a ton of "dam" fun. It also turns out that Lisa is bad at games, but she did reach her bowling goals. She broke a seventy in both games played. That's what's up.

Mr. Lonely
Seeing that winter is upon us, Lisa thought it would be a perfect time to share her eventful fall.
It started with a visit to the transcontinental railroad.
Followed by delicious peaches in Brigham City.
And completed with apple juice making with the cousins.
What a delight!

I Would Feed it a Grenade
We both did poorly on our tests.
The system beat us.
After a discouraging day yesterday, we decided to come up with a list of things we are good at in order to buoy up our spirits. We came up with sweating. We are both really good at that. Since that was all we had, we took it too far, or maybe just far enough. We got to the point of exclaiming, "our bodies are super efficient!" At least we have that. And some optimism.
